In the 1920 census of Sumner Co., Kansas, Twp 76, Samuel, 48, is living with wife Minnie, 42, daughters Velma, 18, Margery, 8, and Gail, 5. Also living with them is John Bales, 49, Minnie's brother. Sam was born in Illinois, as were both parents (error: his father was born in Ohio), Minnie was born in Illinois, father in Ohio and mother in Indiana, Velma was born in Illinois, and Margery and Gail were both born in Kansas. John Bales was also born in Illinois. Samuel was a farmer.
In the 1930 census of Sumner Co., Kansas, Twp 76, Samuel C., 58, is living with wife Minnie B., 52, daughter Margery M., 18, and daughter Gail C., 15. Sam was a farmer.
Sam suffered many years from cancer and died in 1934. Minnie was alive in 1956 according to a photo. |
