|In the 1890 Honolulu directory, W. H. Daniels is listed as an ex district judge with residence in Wailuku. A William H. Daniels is also listed from Wailuku with an occupation of "dry goods, groceries, clothing, and gen mdse."|
From "Hawaiian Gazette" newspaper, 20 Apr 1897:
"Ex-Judge commits sucide!"
Ex-Judge W. H. Daniels from Wailuku shot & instantly killed himself between the hours of 3 & 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon @ Kailua, Hamakualoa, Maui.
The funeral took place from his home in Wailuku on Sunday. He was in-charge of a water-ditch in Huelo. The shot that killed him was a revolver.
Another from the "Hawaiian Gazette," May 1897:
Circuit Court, 2nd District. "Lauwalu Daniels, spouse of W. H. Daniels filed for closures of the estate on the death of her spouse who died 17 Apr. 1897. Motion carried by Judge J.W. Kalua for closures of the estate.
From 21 June to 20 July 1897, Mr A. N. Kepoikai, administrator of estate published alert to creditors of foreclosures of estate six months from first published date. He also asked those who owed money to the estate to make payments due.
Per Hawaiian Gazette on 26 Feb 1895, Twenty-five natives was arrested during the Rebellion against the Dole Administration which tried to take over the control of the Republic of Hawaii. They were arrested during martial law of the Dole Admin. while the Queen of the Republic was under House Arrest. Eight prisoners were released from the recent rebellion. They were: J. K. Kaulia, John Richardson, W. H. Daniels, W. H. Kealakai, G. C. Kenyon, J. K. Kaunamano, W. N. Kapu, & Frank Mahuka. On 05 Mar 1895, printed news in Maui: "Maui's only two celebrities in the recent rebellion have returned to the island. By the "SS Kinau" of last night. W. H. Daniels returned to his Wailuku home & John Richardson landed in Lahaina."
