In 1881, Louis has the same business, but is living at 164 Elysian Fields. His brother August is working for him as a clerk.
In 1890-91, Louis is working for The Casse Commision Co. Limited in New Orleans as a bookkeeper and secretary. He is living at 377 1/2 N. Rampart. Another address listed is 65 Poydras.
In the 1900 census of New Orleans, Orleans Parish, LA (District 63), Louis, 43 (Aug 1857) is living with wife Modeste, 26 (Mar 1874) and children Louis, 9 (Mar 1881), Edward, 3 (May 1887), and Aimee, 3 (Jul 1896). They are living next door to his father, Eugene, and sister Louisa and her family.
From the Daily Picayune, January 8, 1905, Pg. 8, col. 4:
"BONNET -- On Friday, Jan. 6, 1905, at 11 o'clock p.m., Louis B. Bonnet, husband of Modeste Landry, aged 49 years and 6 months, a native of this city. The relatives, friends, and acquaintances of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will take place this Sunday, Jan. 8, at 10:30 o'clock a.m. from the residence of his sister Mrs. Gilbert J. Valadie, No. 1649 North Robertson Street, between St. Bernard and Annette. Donaldsonville and Baton Rouge, La., papers please copy." |
